Recently I have finished reading the shopaholic books by Sophie Kinsella. It is a five book series. They are hilarious and addictive. I'm not sure I can recommend them because there is swearing in them. (I'll repent later). Anyway she describes so well people's outfits and shoes in the stores that it just makes me want to go shopping. So that's I did. Gosh there are so many lovely things to own. I really am much happier when I don't know what's out there to have. But the damage is done.
I didn't really buy a lot, just a pair of shoes that I have been dreaming about for the last couple of weeks, two shirts which I needed to buy to match the shoes (those are the kind of shoes I like, ones where you have to buy an outfit to go with them. It means they make a statement). And I went to Once Upon A Child to buy summer shirts for Lauren. While I was there I found an adorable pair of skinny jeans for her. I don't know if we can pull it off, but we are going to try.
I try to be really good and not shop, but it is like this internal need. I can put it off for so long before...I just can't anymore. Then I tend to go a wee bit overboard. So I think that I have discovered a solution: buy something every couple of weeks and that should curb the appetite. I think that I will try it, and if it doesn't work the bonus is I've got a lot of new things :)

I understand the need to shop. But then I think I had to get over it when I lived in Provo without a car and went 3 years without shopping (except the BYU bookstore, but most of their stuff was too expensive). It's hard to not shop--I'd like to think I'm a doctor's wife now, but I'm still a med student's wife now (which means that we're not just poor, we're ridiculously poor with lots of debt). I guess being stylish will have to wait a few years...
Dude, next time ya shop buy me something! haha
YEah I did get to see Alissa, it was so fun- it's been forever! As YES she told me some news! SO awesome! You should have jumped in the car a came!
I guess that means you don't want to go shopping on Friday anymore. I'll call you tonight or one of the other nights to discuss Friday night. Talk to you later.
That's what you get by window shopping while walking the mall I guess! I do the same thing...I'll look at an item for the longest time and finally give into temptation. So you're normal!
Hilarious! We must see the new shoes.....and outfit. My sister actually loves those books, repenting and all.
Skinny jeans. Hahaha. Not for a child of mine (: Perhaps this is how I am with "organizing" buckets of things and getting rid of (or finding thrift store toys) at home. One can only go so long..........
Stephanie, I need to talk to you. I am going to the dentist at 4:00 today (April 7) for my root canal, I will need to be picked up at a little before 6:00 pm so please use jenny's or judy and bob's phone and call to confirm that you can pick me up. I love you I hope we get your phone back soon.
